🌟 Do you have what it takes to survive on a homestead without modern conveniences? This camp is all about learning essential survival and farmstead skills that would have been necessary for early homesteaders. Campers will face daily hands-on tasks designed to build confidence, independence, and resourcefulness—no experts needed, just teamwork and a willingness to learn!
🔥 What They’ll Learn & Do:
🛠 Tool Mastery & Farm Fix-It Skills – Learn to use hammers, saws, drills, and hand tools to complete real farm tasks like repairing a fence, fixing a gate, or setting up a rainwater collection system.
🏕 Shelter & Outdoor Survival – Build a temporary survival shelter using farm and natural materials, then test its durability!
🔥 Fire Starting Without Matches – Practice fire-starting techniques using friction, flint & steel, and magnifying lenses.
💧 Water Purification & Filtration – Learn how to find, filter, and purify water using natural materials and farm supplies.
🌿 Foraging & Wild Edibles – Identify and harvest safe-to-eat plants around the farm and use them in a meal.
🍳 Farmstead Cooking Challenge – Work in teams to create a simple meal using farm-fresh ingredients over an open flame!
🐔 Animal Husbandry & Barn Chores – Care for the farm animals by feeding, herding, and handling them safely.
🎯 Homesteader’s Obstacle Course – Test endurance and problem-solving skills in a final team-based challenge using everything they’ve learned throughout the week!
